The administrative judge ruled in favour of SAG-AFTRA in its fight against BBH by the decision of the Publicis Group to close its nearly 20-year relationship with the National Association of Actors. The union urged its members not to work for an agency that uses aviation talents in its work for customers such as Sony, Amazon, Google and Netflix. As part of the negotiations, the BBH will have to repeat all of its advertising messages in accordance with SAG-AFTRA’s contracts, which set salaries and trade union contributions to the pension fund and to the health fund for its artists. 27 September 2018:SAG- members hold a demonstration outside the BBH L.A. office after a strike against the agency. Subject to final approval by the National Labour Relations Committee, BBH will be required to review advertising contracts with the union. Gabriel Carteris, President of SAG-AFTRA, and David White, National Executive Director, expressed their “satisfaction” with the BBH’s return to the contract. “From the very beginning, our goal has been to provide our customers with innovative, high-quality creative work in a growing industry on an equal footing,” said Brett Edgar, CEO of BBH New York in “his” speech. In 2015, the union approached Droga5, owned by Accenture Interactive, and accused the agency of using its talent. This seems to have ended a 10-month strike by SAG-AFTRA against the agency. SAG-AFTRA members can regain their jobs at BBH.
