“A loud cry for that policeman from Park City who saved the day in an unusual way for a stressful, sinking, single mother-moment,” wrote Carter “ We‘re proud of Agent Carrillo and his actions to turn a potentially negative experience into a positive one,” wrote a Park City police representative on Facebook. “I was angry,” said Park City agent Mike Carrillo about Jake. Christy Carter, a single mother in Park City, Utah, walked up to her 17-year-old son, Jake, to prepare for her prom when she realized that none of them knew how to tie a tie: “It’s not every day that an agent ties his tie to the dance,” she can be heard on video. “To make a good impression on someone’s life, I always want to help people,” says Carrillo. When her was distracted on her way to the dance, Carter didn’t stop at a stop sign and a policeman stopped her. “Everyone learned from her father,” Jake told KSTU. After Carter explained the situation, Jake asked the policeman if he knew how to tie a tie. I told him: “I haven’t left the house yet”, says Jake, “I look behind me to see those horrible flashing lights”, his mother wrote on Facebook. Since 2019, she has been writing about faith, family and daily life for Liftable, an article in the Western journal. Carter pulled out her phone and began to take the sweet moment and thanked the agent for her kind gesture. With the extra time he spent filling out information for a ticket, Carter knew that her son would later meet his friends.
